This week we have been seeing lower temperatures and I noticed the leaves on all the fig plants are wilting.  They are still green, but curling.  I did have a plant go dormant last year, but I don't remember the leaves curling.  Is this normal before they brown and fall off?

At this time of yr leaf curling probably isn't significant. A light freeze might do that. Could be something else.

Just hope that the freezes are gradual and not teens all at once.

I'm down here in Stamford CT mine have already turned yellow and fell off the few leaves that were green got hit by a light frost and curled up it happens every year like that you have nothing to worry about

Thanks Steve and Dave.  I'm confident it was frost as all plants left outside experienced curled leaves.  Last year the 2 fig trees I had turned brown and dropped leaves in a more traditional manner.  It is strange we are almost in November and all plants had vigorous green leaves until this week.  I'll wait for leaves to fall and bring them all into the garage.

Hi Aporto,
There is wilting (soft leaves from lack of water) and wilting ( frost cooked leaves).
Are the leaves damages by the weather ? (Brown edges ... )
Check if they are missing water. If the dirt is dry, give them water.
The week before last week, I had two potted ones wilting because of lack of water. Some in ground were struggling because they still are producing figs and that makes them use water especially in the dry months we had here.
We had rain last week but before that we had 8+ weeks without any rain and always sunny and warm (warmer than "normal" for September and October ) weather.
Most of my trees are still full leafed ... One potted started losing her top leaves, that's all.
I'm still watering mine every now and then.

Hi Andrew,

It is the cold. The two specific, recent nights cold is knocking them down.

The in-ground plant's leaves are hanging like basil and most garden plants after a near frost.

It is supposed to go back into the mid 60's next week

First they curled, then start to hang after the last two days. Before that several were trying to hang on.

Did you ever find the critter in your garden? My corn got wiped out like yours, as soon as they were ready.

Turned out to be rats/swamp rats. two days wiped out a 8' square section. The plot looked like the picture you posted. No foot prints, and I am pretty sure the suckers burrow also.

Used poison blocks, Tom Cat, huge suckers, they even stored hot peppers in my shed.
