Hi! I just want to ask....what are the most productive and recommended varieties in the 100g+ range? I've had some really big California Brown Turkey figs that were up around 110 grams. Last year some of my desert Kings, out of my massive harvest (more than 150 lbs off a 7-year old in-ground tree), were quarter-pounders, over 120 grams.

These are main crop figs. To be fair, the pic of the 'fig in hand' is my 5 year old sons' hand. Uploaded pics from phone and didn't see that one until this morning! I'm a fan of the 100+ club, too. Wish there was more room to grow them. Nice list Ben. Going to add this to my notes. Maybe I'll start collecting the big ones. :) Here's another one. It's a local favorite here for many, many years. The owner simply calls it 'Calabria', after the region where he is from. He brought a tree here more than 40 years ago and planted it in his yard where it is today. Never winter protected. Had some dieback in 2014 but came right back. He regularly picks main crop figs in the 100g-150g range and a few that come close to 200g. It's a delicious fig and I'm glad to have it in my collection. This 103g fig came off my 1 year old Calabria last year. Very impressive for a tree that young. __________________ Danny NYC Z7a It's all about the figs! The “Giant Black Bursa” is one I’ve read good things about. It weighs in at 90-120 grams and is supposed to have the same delicious flavor as the famous Black Bursa fig from Turkey. There were large apple sized figs there for sale that looked just like the ones in the pictures posted on this forum.
