Right you are Nelson. Wild passion fruit vines found my Celeste and made a home for themselves. When mature, they are delicious! BTW, I grew up in Downsview. What part of Toronto do you grow your figs? Frank |

Hi Frank 90% are at my parents house on Davenport Road 2 minutes from Casa Loma. I live just south of downsview in Weston. I see you made a smart move running away from our harsh winters to sunny florida hehehe. Oh by the way be carefull with the passion vines they are known to strangle other plants to death including trees. |

I remember a B scifi movie where this guy had another head growing from his shoulder and I think it ended up being his evil twin. I wouldn't eat that one you never know. Keep an eye on your right shoulder. Actually I think thats how it starts with an eye on you right shoulder. |

These passion vines apparently grow wild around these parts. I didn't know what they were until I noticed the flower when FMD pointed this guy out to me the other day. Next time I'm at Tom Brown Park, I'm going to look for the fruit. The flowers are pretty intense and hard to miss: ![]() ![]() |

@tmc2009: Too late! As soon as the picture was taken, down the hatch it went. I hope that pimple on my shoulder is just a pimple... @nelson20vt: Small world. I helped finance myself through University (York) and med school (Italy) by working at the Sir Winston Churchill Tennis Club just a tick from where your parents live. Yup, love Florida especially North Florida. @hex1848: Thanks for posting pictures of the passion fruit flower. I tried domesticating the vine by digging up the roots and planting them in pots but failed miserably. They just love to run wild. |

Yes. North Florida is the place for wild passion flower. We are blessed to see this sight year after year...purple passion flower. Interesting the difference in purple & white. This strain is always 'striped' the same way. |
