Not sure why but in the pic the flesh is pinkish in my hand it's kind of amber with a pink tinge

I would say that's a man size fig leaf.

I think it has something to do with the amount of nutrients and moisture, etc. that was flowing into the plant at the critical time that leaf was forming. In other words, that leaf just happen to get all the right stuff at just the right time. Just one of my theories.

Could also be due to a dramatic shift in the earth's magnetic field coupled with a solar flare and swamp gas. Not quite as likely as the afforementioned theory though.

Bill lmao. I guess I should have been a little more specific. I was wondering if any one could Id this thing. All the leaves look the same but has very few. The fruit looks like flying saucers and is amber with a pink hue to the flesh. Any clue what it might be?

With big leaves like that and saucer shaped fruit I thought this one might just be from out of this world. lol Where ever it is from it sure is interesting. Are all or most of the leaves that large and that shape? How was the taste?

Allan anything is possible. It's even possible that this is one that I brought from turkey or cyprus.
Barry yes all the leaves are the same and for the most part a few have even less of a lobe. It was sweet not as figgy as I would like. I am only gonna have 2 more figs from this season. The tree is very slow growing. So maybe next season I will have a better idea oh well
Thanks every one for your help

~ celt,

Glad you appreciate my sense of humor. Comes from my mothers side of the family. They've always been an odd bunch ;) .

Sorry, I thought it was all about the big leaf. The fruit are very interesting. I'm afraid I won't be of much help on the ID though.

Maybe the flavor will improve as the tree matures.

Can you post some more pics of the entire tree? Maybe of the other fruits as they ripen?
