I'll be on it next week. I'll try to take you a pic for old times sake.

Thank you, Cecil. This is a very helpful listing for people new to buying figs on eBay.
A few years ago, when I didn't know any better, I bought a few of both cuttings and plants from a few sellers on eBay who may not have identified them accurately. In my case, I am not saying that they were bad or shady dealers pretending to sell something special- simply that they may not have really known what they were selling. Since I'm not really sure what varieties these are, I'm not going to share these plants/cuttings as named varieties until I know what they really are.
Good information to share, thanks again!

I'm bumping this thread just for the heck of it!

There are a few I know I have most likely missed..If so I apologize

Thanks for the bump!  Missed it first time around.  Saved it in a word doc for future reference.

I'm trying to refrain during this heat from having cuttings sent because our mail is on a late afternoon route, and they mainly fry in the mail truck!

A little advice.  If you buy a rooted cutting from anyone, put it in damp (seriously wringed out sphangum moss with a dry paper towel or two) in a zip lock, and wrap with a dark towel.  Don't look!  Wait for a week or two, then, open the bag, and the roots that died on the trip will be actively growing.

Your "rooted cutting" will have a much better chance with the above treatment!

Suzi

Damp Sphangum moss inhibits mold, and cuttings love it!

Keith K (KK) has been a long time fig friend of mine.
Way back when only GW/FF existed with only a few members!
At that time, there were very few fig_nuts/resources  around...
We met at least twice at each others house discussing
and exchanging fig starters.
Keith is the 'finder' of the 'Lyndhurst White' fig.
Regrettably, Keith does not post often on an any FF anymore!

One other definite good-fig person to be trusted about them figs...

An oldie pic of my then young LW:

I believe his GW id is kkfromnj, and on ebay he's kk.

I can vouch for the quality of plants he sells, since I bought MVSB and VdB from him this spring. The plants are very vigorous and appear to be true to type--I was able to taste a couple of figs from each already. :) His packaging was really professional, and the plants arrived quickly and in great shape.

I don't know how to import but I'd add "drivewayfarmer" as not only a f4f member, but an excellent Ebay seller.

Need help.

I'm new to eBay, and I've never used it (shocking but I've never had a reason to and it seem complicated), but I'm trying to set up my account now for the sole reason to buy from the reputable fig4fun members on eBay. If I don't have a score yet would anyone even consider selling to me? I currently can't afford to have a checking/bank account (minimum balance charges) so my paypal account can not be verified and I know that's a big negative for ebay sellers, when looking at a buyer. No one I know has or wants to set up an eBay account that is fully verified out of fear of having to link all their sensitive account info. Any advice. Or am I totally stuck.

If you have zero feedback some will sell to you yes while some sellers have their account setup otherwise or state in there listing.
I have sold to buyers with zero feedback and then when buyer was happy with transaction i left their first positive feedback as we all have to have a beginning.

There is also a area where one enters a ID to prevent them from bidding in there auction yet if misunderstanding happened or for other reasons seller can easily remove them from that blacklist.

I would like to be include in this list, if you see fit. I stand behind all I sell and they all came from reputable sources(Forum Members) and are what they are listed to be. Not trying to toot my horn or anything, just thought I should be included. Thanks

Tim , Fatnsassytexan , sends out excellent cuttings.
Everything I have from him has turned out great plants , especially Hollier.
Thanks Tim , glad to see your impressive list on ebay.

Make sure to set up a PayPal account, too.  Most sellers take payment through PayPal, and some specify it as the only way you can pay for your items.  The benefit to the buyer is that a PayPal payment is quick and guaranteed, so no problem if you don't have feedback.  You only need a credit card to set it up.  Good luck!

Kerry , Thanks for the cudo's. I really love my Hollier. By the way, Kerry (drivewayfarmer) is a great source for cuttings and a super nice person.

I was finally able to start an Ebay account a few days ago, in the hopes of getting access to harder to find varieties. But I'm looking around on Ebay and I'm noticing the "No Shipping to California" warning in the description on some listings. On most other listings it is not mentioned or specified if shipping to CA is an issue. So, I would liked to know, Who here selling on Ebay can do shipping to California with no issue?

Henry since you asked - in winter i've sent scionwood to Canada that had to be sterilized according to post office with no problem and also to
South Korea.
Also have shipped scionwood across USA.  ; )
