A friend's grandmother brought two fig trees from her village, Baskinto in Lebanon. Baskinto is located in the mountains above Beirut. I was able to get a number of cuttings from these two trees. One tree is a large purple. The other is a smaller brown. I will do trade first for anyone interested in these Fig cuttings. Any cuttings left I will send for postage. |

I would love to get some of the purple cuttings if you still have some. PM me and we can arrange a trade. |

P.M. sent. Do you know if they need pollination? |

ejp3, they do not need pollination. They have been growing in Arkansas for fifty plus years. We do not have the fig wasp in Arkansas. |

Vern, It's spelled Baskinta, it is in a very high elevation with spectacular views. It is known to be a summer resort town, and for its fruit trees and vineyards. Have you sampled these figs?

Bass, Thanks for the correct spelling. I have not tasted these figs. My friend says the purple ones are better than the brown ones. I have seen what she calls the brown ones. She had a freezer bag full in her freezer. These figs looked bigger than a ping pong ball. To me they looked yellow green and brown, not just brown. |
