I got the plant as a Deanna. After consulting pictures and taste reviews, just don't seem to match with mine.  Anyone here grows it and can offer some insights?  Thanks.

Green fruits & leaves.

1st ripen fruit.  Maybe picked too late, tasted awful.

2nd fruit.  Picked greener, tasted better (texture wise) but not sweet at all.

Hi Martino,

By awful, what was awful about it?  Can you describe what the awful was?

jennifer - you bet! I will wait a while to see if it turns good tho.

noss - not sure how to describe 'awful', just bland, not palatable.  Maybe over-riped?

Especially for those who have Deanna, do the shape of the leaves and the look of the fruits (inside and out) match those of yours?

Looks like the fig was picked too early (2-3 days) rather than too late.  That skin is way too firm to be "too late".

yea, with the first fruit, i didn't think it was too late at first.  I felt it before plucking, and thought it was right.  But the colors inside, and the texture and taste, all seemed to suggest over-riped.

With the 2nd one, I picked earlier, and texture was right, thought taste was bland.

The 'bad' fig may have gone sour for any number of reasons.  That could have contributed to the taste problem.

I have come to terms that it may not be Deanna, but what does it look like?

Deanna should be yellow on the exterior.
