Good day, before the wife and I headed for the mountains on Friday, I covered my figs and put out ant bait. Charlotte got 3 inches of rain and I was afraid my figs would suck too much water. Oh well, to my surprise, they did not. Waiting for me at home were these babies! They were full of sugar and very very very sweet. Enjoy! |

Yes I agree Improved Celeste is a very good fig,and most time will resist rain. |

Dennis, how big is the tree. Would you say it is a productive variant ? |

Hey Paully! This tree is about 4 foot tall with a 4 foot spread. I pruned it down to 2 feet in December and it has already doubled in size. I got another tree not far from this one, its a tad bit smaller but has ripening figs on too. Both trees are in the ground. But get this....I have another tree in a 25g planter and the figs on this tree are much larger than these in my photos! The birds are get some of them and a few are days from being ripe but this tree in the pot is the pretting tree I have in a pot! Next Spring, I plan on replacing all my Celeste trees with Improved Celeste. The figs on my trees are the larges yet from my IC trees! |
