Are you talking about the ones sold by "octopuslnc"? I believe he is a member here.

Every RdB I checked on ebay has more than one picture. Two have a picture of fruit and leaves, the other has a picture of a tree with FMW. Maybe you did not fully check out the pictures or know something we don't.

shouldnt we start by saying "possible fake rdb"? lets not start a fire if not needed but thanks for the heads up. not trying to be a jerk here just trying to keep it fun. we need some type of list of known safe seller.

there are alot of members of f4f that sell on ebay, fortunatly about 95% of them are selling what they say they are. the other 5% from what i have seen have been busted out and no longer log on to the forum. I got my RdB from drivewayfarmer who is a very reputable seller on ebay and a very knowlagable member on the forum.

there is a topic posted of good ebay sellers and bad ebay sellers on the forum that gets added to over time. maybe this seller has been added to eather list. i will look up the topic and bump it up.

Anyone who imposes their authority "my flawless feedback" is suspect for deception. He is also using someone else's photo of fruit, apparently Fair Use extends beyond education and commentary in his part of the world. He has a chip on his shoulder after being disagreed with that using other people's photo's is OK. Maybe this is his way of getting even?

Not sure of the name (actually I am sure and not inclined to post), but sure if someone comes begging for any cutting you might have, do NOT listen.  You will see whatever you send on EBAY for an inflated price.  Buyer beware!  Do NOT send cuttings unless you have a signed statement that they will NOT sell what you freely gift anywhere.

Come on, Suzi. Isn't that rather extreme? We dealt and I do not recall either of us signing documents. I admit to occasionally contacting people to see if they have cuttings for sale or trade. Doesn't hurt to ask. All you can get is declined.

Anyone who says they never ever inquired about a variety they wanted is a liar. And I do not believe everyone who asks is intending to resell or do something shady. I didn't. Most other folks did not as well. We need to not let a few bad apples spoil the bunch. I understand caution, but we are starting to see paranoia on this forum.

OctopusInc Dave. Has he trolled anyone else with a PM recently? I would have been a little more understanding if he had not tried to get up in my head and do some damage. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt but think that was a mistake now.

Thank John (jpeaspanen). I believe that is a nice statement.

OK John!  You are right!  I'm backing off!  No signed statements!  Just trust!  But when the trust is broken, that's where it get's dicey!  I never ever had anyone sign anything, and never thought about it, but I have received messages from Octopusinc, and warnings about him.  I will not send a thing to him.  Ever!  Not even a cutting of my treasured Bermuda grass!

Many members here have sent really premium cuttings for free to other members, expecting nothing in return.  But when the very thing they sent to the beggar appears on Ebay?  Wouldn't you be upset?  Absolutely!

It isn't rocket science for someone on Ebay to figure out what is selling, google, become a member and take advantage.

I know Suzi was just trying to prove a point by stating the extreme. I don't believe she is actually seeing a lawyer for the drawing up of fig contracts. I, again, just want to state that I wish we could all just stop the fighting on this forum. It's fruit, not life and death.

Let's get back to fun!  Want a cutting of my treasured Bermuda grass?  I don't think you can smoke it, so probably no takers!  :-((
But I will need a signed statement, notarized, that you will NOT sell it!  Only gift it!

I hate the bermuda grass i got. cant kill it and it grows so darn fast and gets into everything.

i would think that this is one great place to get some real good verietys and feel good that thay are true to the name, for the most part. dont we wont to get them to all how wont them. or is the goal if you pass that certain test you get the fig, I will be doing my best to pass what ever plant i have on to others. and one must get over your demands. sale it or give away or rat hole it. people will do what thay will, dos it really matter if thay make money .the goal is still the same the correct name and its all over the world like a brown turkey. and wouldnt that be the best for all.dont under stand people some times. its just wood folks.

Dave!  OMG!  Are you saying you do not want cuttings of my treasured Bermuda grass?  How about a Florea?  It will cost you!  Go down to the local pawn shop and pawn your bermuda grass............

As I told you over eBay, I regrettably did not get any pictures of the tree in the summer, but I did compare the figs with pictures here on this forum, from my Google search, and from Bass's website and they looked identical.  The picture of fruit/leaves in my auction is the one of those I compared it to in the summer and it looks exactly like the fruit this tree produces.  Beyond that he told me it's an RdB, he's a very nice and honest person, and I have no reason not to believe him.  So far as leaning on my feedback of course I'm proud of having almost 1000 feedback with a 100% rating, wouldn't you be?

Hoosierbanana, I wasn't flaming you, I wasn't trolling you, and I thought I was very polite.  My private message to you during the whole drama here last week was genuinely good advice.

Come this season I will take pictures of the tree, leaves, and fruits from his actual tree.  If I were going to sell counterfeit figs don't you think it would be a much more rare variety, or several varieties? You will notice if you stalk through my feedback--which I'm betting you already have--you will see that it is the only variety I have sold this year, because it is the only tree I've harvested.

This is my neighbor's RDB right now, which isn't very impressive in this state, and is why I didn't offer any pictures of it on my auction.  I just took this photo right now.

Suzi, I could trade some running bamboo for your Bermuda grass. Got to give as good as I get. :)

I would not normally share a PM, but in the spirit of giving as good as you get...

[QUOTE]Your attitude is by far the most toxic of all the people who got involved with this whole drama.  Literally everything you have posted is something to the effect of "look at this new person, look how below us they are."  Us/them mentality doesn't just demonstrate a weak mind, it also causes rifts in communities like this.

Anytime you're going to post something about another member just first ask yourself if you're being a an elitist.

I know you'll take this with a large amount of hostility right now, but this is good advice for how others should be treated in all aspects of life, and I hope down the road I will have helped you by telling you what you don't want to hear.

I have tried everything to kill this grass. round up, gas and burn, till under. wait until its 2 foot tall and scalp the lawn in the hottest part of the day. no matter what i do i cant keep it out of the grow spots of the garden or figs unless i dig a foot down all around the planting area, put 6 mill plastic on the bottem and sides like a bowl and fill with wood chips. i hate it. would rather have just plane clove like in my back yard. good for compost and looks good mowed short. but the burmuda chokes out everything i try to rplace it with.

Here it now!  I will only trade my treasured Bermuda Grass for PREMIUM Figs OR a crusher destemmer (winemaking stuff).  You people fail to see the value of that most wonderful Bermuda Grass!

We are now having fun, right?

Next season cower with dark poly plastic area that you don`t want bermuda grass to grow on it and they will die in week or two.

All these posts remind me of the State Farm commercial where the woman says they can't put anything on the internet unless it is true.  She then says that's where she met her date who is a french model.  Just for the record I am a french model too, Bonjour.

Suzi,
can we come visit when you get your 1 1/4 acre, I have a tent and am very well  behaved. I may bring a small pruner.

Pete,
I've gotten sent to a lot of family reunions (aka domestics) where after a few drinks, everyone tells their family how they really feel. And there is the carving knife sticking out of the turkey. LOL

Here I thought I was just adding a somewhat benign post with some humor.  Forgot about the title.  Sorry about that.  The atmosphere has definitely changed here over the past year though.
