Hi, I'm trying to find a True O'rourke, not the three lobed leaf Improved Celeste variety. I had two cuttings this year and both did not make it. If you are sure you have what I am looking for please contact me. I have many recently rooted cuttings ( a lot from UCD ) and can trade. Let me know what you may be looking for. I also had my only McCool and only Maltese Beauty fail and would like one of each of those.

If all else fails, Durio carries O'rourke. It says improved celeste behind it in parethesis, but he describes it as 5-7 lobed leaves.

Previous posts here say it's not O'rourke

Hi Jake,
I got a tree from Durio a couple of years ago that was labeled O'Rourke, but the leaves were one to three lobes. Was going to get rid of it until I tasted the figs from it last year. I was going to get rid of the tree because I already had an iC, which is funny, now, because I have several more now. Very good figs. I don't know what it is and I no longer care what it is because those figs were delicious.
Anyway, last year, I did see some babies that fit the true O'Rourke description, but didn't see fruit from the adult tree Dalton has. I hope to do so this year.
Others have said they definitely got O'Rourkes from Dalton Durio. Dalton and I have talked about his tree a couple of times.
If you can't get any cuttings from others, you might think of giving Dalton a call.

I purchased O'Rourke from Petals from the Past (online nursery) last year in a 1 gallon container. The figs and leaf pattern matched the LSU publication. It produced alot for such a young plant. Most of the figs were pinched but a few were allowed to ripen. I had also ordered LSU Champagne, LSU Purple and LSU Tiger. The Champange and Tiger also matched the LSU publication. I'm actually looking for the 1-3 lobed Improved Celeste. Good Luck.
<Edit> Just found the only picture of one of the three (3) O'Rourke fig plants from last year. Its center frame in white bucket, with one figlet, it was the smallest of the three plants. They never produced 7 lobed leaves, only 5 and 1 or 2 of the earliest leaves were 3 lobed.

I too have one of the O'rourkes from Petals from the Past, one of the reason I am still looking. No 5-7 lobed leaves. Three at best.

The O'Rourkes I've seen, so far have 3-5-lobed leaves. In the pictures of the LSU leaves in the link from LSU show 5-lobes on the leaves in the picture. I have a young O'Rourke and the leaves have 3-5-lobed leaves and the cutting came directly from LSU. I'll go with what I see and that's what I've seen, so far.
Improved Celestes have from 1-3-lobed leaves and one of mine had several 5-lobed leaves, which was a surprise because she isn't an O'Rourke, but is one of the iCs. It appears that I have more than one type of iC, according to an old-timer who was familiar with all the people at LSU. He and two others were adamant that their trees were iCs, only. Roy and Dr. Maher both got their trees from LSU and so did Mark.
I find all of this very interesting and a lot of fun, in trying to track down LSU trees. I'm not certain, yet, but it appears that I may have three different iCs, but time will tell and there is still the question about the tree I got from Dalton that was marked O'Rourke, but has 1-3-lobed leaves. It might be an entirely different tree, though, with delicious figs, so whatever it is, I hope it will produce more figs this year.
Doug, where did your little tree come from?

Bass,
How does one go about contacting LSU to order cuttings?

They don't sell or distribute cuttings, I have a contact that deals with them.
