I'm sure that many of you experienced growers already know this, but I thought I'd share my experience for the noobs like me. When I started my cuttings back in February, I had several that just didn't make it. I had tossed them aside and sort of forgot about them. When I was cleaning out my potting area this weekend, I found a twig that had been sitting in a cup with some perlite. It had not been watered for at least a couple months. It had two leaves on it!!! |

"Maybe it was the neglect that it needed" :) |

I have a bunch of twigs in pots that rooted then did nothing. Every once in a while one will leaf out. it is pretty common for this to happen so don't ever be in a rush to toss out seemingly dead cuttings |

I forgot to mention, this one had also rooted out before I had put it in the cup. I think it may have even started a leaf at one time. But then the leaves turned brown and fell off and the twig sort of shriveled up and played dead. |
