These are potted second year UCD figs that have shirked most signs of their FMV.

Very nice growing well and figs to boot.

Hi Gina, are you having the same experience with your UCD cuttings. I am quite surprised how the majority of them work their way out of the FMV pathology given the right conditions.

Years ago ScD did same propagated from UcDavis scion , it showed FmV heavyily and as plant grew it waned yet still there in minor way.
Plant was eventually discarded after several years of tasting it's figs.
UcDavis once listed this type as breba only i found out in our yard it was not true.

Neither of mine are directly from UCD, but both are doing well. My Flanders is from cuttings from Jon, my Early Violet I collected from a 10 year old tree that most probably originally was from UCD. The owner did not recall, but most of their trees were UCD. Most of the older trees were large and healthy, others IMO were still negatively affected by FMV. Those trees still affected (were not vigorous) were VdB, Col de Dam, Vernino, Monstrueuse, ...and the Black Madiera had died. These are mature in-ground trees, so there could be other issues such as nematodes or gopher damage or drought, but I don't know. Could be a combination of problems. Other trees there (maybe 30 total) however such as Panachee, King, Zidi, and most others appeared to be flourishing. They are growing in a warm, slightly inland Mediterranean climate.
