Is Marseilles VS Black and Marseilles Black the same tree? How many times does it crop and what month for zone 6b in ground? Is it worth having in ground or I can find something better ( maybe Kathleen's Black) what does it taste like? And if those two are totally different type of trees, which one do you like more and are they both good for my zone? also what's the difference in taste?

Yes, I do believe they are exactly the same "type" of Marseilles Black originated by a person who's initials are "VS"

Same. It's supposed to be a very good tasting fig, hardy in NJ and a good growing tree

VS are the initials of (Herman2). I don't know his last name but his first name is Vasile. Hope that helps to make it a little clearer.

SOOOO!

Was Herman2 not convinced his Marseilles Black was really a Marseille Black?

There must have been a reason for someone putting the VS on there.  There must have been some doubt or someone thought his was superior to a standard Marseille Black.

Anyone??????????
