I have seen references to the Malibu Cunningham fig (Coastal California) ranch and their figs but have never visited the place. |

Vital Zuman's Ranch owned buy the Cunninghams: At the Fig Tree Ranch in Malibu, however, fig fanatics are welcome to visit. A quarter-mile from the ocean, the Cunningham family grows 150 trees bearing 23 varieties of figs, most of which can usually be tasted only in private collections. There's Celeste, the classic fig of the Southeast, and the ranch's own Coconut Chiquita, with a coconut aftertaste that's "so good it should be illegal," says Vikkie Vicars, the farm hostess. |

Have been there a couple times. It is 2-3-4 acres of incredibly prime real estate in the heart of Malibu, California. It is suppposedly the oldest organic farm in California. Alan grew up on the property, and now continues to run the farm, growing a variety of figs, squash, corn, melons, etc., etc. Last time I was there I think there were about 50-075 producing trees, and he was expanding the orchard. |

Is Coconut Chiquita a fig variety? Sounds like a must have. |
