Yep it's raining again and I didn't want to risk losing my first Preto, so it had to be picked in a quick hurry. It was very soft and just about ready anyway, although I would have given it another day. You can see that in spite of the rain, the eye remains closed. This fig is phenomenal!!! Got more ripening too, hope they are ok with this rain. |

If it is like Black Maderia, mine do well in there isn't too much rain, haven't tried them during heavy rain though, less than 1/2 an inch at a time doesn't harm them it seems. |

barry, how old is your Figo Preto? both Figo Preto and Black Madeira that i have are not swelling yet, and it's mid sept. i'm hoping they will ripen sometime in oct. |

Geez Pete I guess I got it 2 years ago as a young started cutting. I've got 2 Black Madeira trees also, both with fruit and no signs of ripening on either. |
