Hi everyone! Just wanted to share a picture of one of my Takoma Violet cuttings that is doing really well which has also decided to push a baby fig out. Is this normal, by the way? Should I leave it or take it off? This is my first season rooting cuttings and it has been going well thanks to such an informative forum like this which is also filled with very knowledgeable and helpful members. |

Welcome! Definitely take that figlet off. You want the plant's energy going to roots and leaves. Let it get healthy and strong, then get figs. |

Hi Ryan and welcome. Nice figlet you got there. I think it better to remove the figs the first year from what i have read. Forces the plant to grow bigger and work on the roots. |

Ryan, yes, sever that little cutie, and put a humidity dome, an upside down cup with holes for venting over... until you have leaves, or the top wil dry up... energy, as already said, should be on the roots... |
