The rooting hormone topic was covered many times from different angles, there are people who like them and some who would never use them again.
I found that honey can be used as a rooting agent.

Anybody used it for figs? What are the results?
I know it can be a mold inhibitor as a natural antiseptic so if it also helps with rooting, it sounds like a win-win situation.

A Google search returned several recipes. One is simply dip a cutting in the fresh honey and either plant it into a pot or root it in a paper towel (baggie method). The other one involves making a mix:
1) boil 2 cups of water 2)add 1 TBS(tablespoon) of honey 3) Let mixture cool then put in an airtight container 4) Store out of light, either sunlight or artificial 5) Dip cutting in solution then pot up OR soak the cuttings in with it and proceed with your favorite method.

What is your experience if any?

i only use honey for making mead. with heavy concentration of whatever that makes honey, it won't have enough moisture to promote growth of things like mold and such. like jam and preserve and salted cod. but wouldn't that draw fruit flies? 

I am rooting my cuttings in honey water solution right now. 1 tsp honey + 1 litre of water. I have no mold issue. And I am hoping they will root soon. Norhayati

I have heard from others it works quite well but I would only use it for indoor cuttings due to insects etc.

Norhayati, Could you tell a bit more about your procedure? Do you root in the honey water only, no soil?
