Hi everyone!!!! My inground LSU Purple has finally started to bud out! I am sure the record cold weather we had this winter is to blame. The poor cuttings I started last year are still in their original containers I potted them in - they started to grow while in the garage over a month ago, however I think I did lose a a few. I have off the next 3 days so I will be able to work with the figs AND in the garden. I think the garden will be much better this year now that Luce is over a year old and is turing into a great little dog and companion. |

I'm glad things are looking up. Gardening is very therapeutic, may Spring bring on all the wonderful growth we've all been itching for. |

Many people find gardening the most peaceful part of their day. Even The Don in the Godfather movies spent his last hours with his grand children in and around his tomatoes. I'm sure that's been played out 100's of times by others. |

JoAnn, best of luck with everything this new growing year. I'll second what Phil said, Gardening, your dog, and nurturing your figs along. Can't get much better! Good luck, happy gardening. |

Thanks everyone for the well wishes! I was out in the garden yesterday - weeding the flower beds, and getting the vegetable beds ready. I even managed to get a few veggies planted. Luce stepped into the flower bed "to help" lol. I told her "no", she stepped out and sat beside me while I worked. Next to my fig tree and joining this forum, getting her is the best decision I have made (at least recently)!! |
