I'm already getting bitten left and right from Mosquitos every time in go out in the garden. After a friend got West Nile virus which ultimately caused cerebral meningitis and was near death, time to get some serious protection. I don't know how practical this bug suit will be and certainly if the neighbors don't already think there the crazy one with the trees, they will for sure think it now.

Lizzie...heh! Nothing wrong with being a little paranoid, Figfanatic. Who wants to spend the whole Summer on Steroids or Antibiotics?

Looking good.  Hope it's not too hot.

We have lots of tigers here. They are usually all over me when I water. I can’t stand applying any kind of repellant to my skin. Tried this last season. I had good success when standing still watering the plants.

I read the military used something like this at some remote mosquito infested jungle island and it was the only thing that worked http://t.homedepot.com/p/Mosquito-Magnet-Patriot-Trap-MM4101/202072034

Yes that suit is hot so I don't know if it's practical.. I may try that Off clip. Thanks for reminding me. Someone else says it worked for them too.

There is a fellow near me who grows citronella and then makes a powerful extract.  He sells a little bit and it's usually to hunters, everyone who has used it claims it works like magic, in case anyone is willing to do some chemistry it might be an option.

I use 2 of those Off devices, one on each side.  They work pretty well.  Of course I have no idea what I'm breathing in.

Yeah, its funny. Its designed to encapsulate you in a repellant cloud yet warns about breathing it in. All those repellants have some kind of warning. I'm not going to worry about it, how many years do I have left.

I know exactly how many years you have, but not which planet's year we're talking about.  Some planets circle their star in 4 seconds, some take over 100 earth years for each 1 of their years.

Hi,
In my own orchard, I would plant citronella - it is hardy in Zone7. You could plant it all around each tree.
I have some "bushes" of citronella all around the garden.
That plant is a weed so from year to year it sprouts here and there. I let them grow.
When the bushes are too big, I cut them . I have mint around... That seems to help as well with mosquitoes .

i've used mosquito head nets for years when camping. they work great and aren't cumbersome. for the rest of your body, DEET sprayed on clothes works,  i don't like it on my skin either.

The last two years we have had mosquitos that feel like you have been impaled with a hot poker.

Each year I've come down with cellulitis from a skeeter bite. Been lucky this year since the neighbor filled in his swamp water pool.

Started getting those clips.

My boss swears by them when he goes camping and fly fishing.
