thank you all for your kind words.

@ enigma
tabahana was a village near ancient olympia ( αρχαια ολυμπια )
figs ware from there...
at some point the villagers left and relocated near patras,( i dont know why)
i guess they took some cuttings with them.
the fig is known mostly in pirgos and patra.
there is a neighbourhood near patra that has that name. ταμπάχανα
I hope this helps.

i dont like yellow skin figs because of the pale flesh..
i fell in love with this one because its dark red, mysterious and unexpected. ;-))

@ FigAlot   thank you.

@ Enigma  i assumed you knew what ohra (ωχρα) ment,
for the rest of the friends here ohra is pale or yellow in color,.

Hey Andreas, looks do not mean to much to me, it's the taste that counts. They could be light, dark, pale flesh, dark red flesh, oldies, newly named but really oldies, and real newly found one of a kind, it doesn't matter as long as the taste is excellent. Give me the UGLIES with a 10 taste.

@ Wayne
i am with you on that... some times...
but you have to admit that after you had 15-20 figs in a day
the only thing that could make you go for just one more... is looks!!!
(taking as a given that taste is close to 10)
