Those pots of tomatoes stewing bring back childhood memories both of harvest and mid-winter hot meals. |

The drink with the tacos is acerola juice. In the pots is sauce simmering down. |

Good tomatoes have to have some acidity which is lacking in store bought and even vegetable stand tomatoes. The soil and time sitting before eating makes all the difference in the world. I like to pick and eat them like an apple. YUM! |

Those look delicious! I only had 4 plants this year, no where near as many maters but you can't beat homegrown! |

I love sauce but at this point I dehydrate them. Much less space and weight and they can still become sauce. |

Rich - A great choice of varieties. Have you tried Jet Star? Excellent size, shape, flavor and productivity. |

Next year I just think we will grow Rutgers and 4th of July. Better Boy did not have as good flavor as Rutgers and we can make great tasting sauce from Rutgers too. 4th of July are very early and have great flavor. They keep producing all summer long. |
