Wow! I only can imagine how your garden could look like if you had lived further south. |

Beautiful, Grasa! I hope the good weather lasts for a good harvest. Interesting looking pear, what variety is it? |

Gary, it is labeled Red Bartlet. I planted 7 pear trees in a 30 degree slant, about 20 inches apart in a row. I am training them to grow in the slant, however, I could not resist and allowed a few to fruit, so I would experiment them. Twentyth Century Asian Pear is a big winner here. We picked a couple and I am letting the last one to get super ripe on the tree. Next year they should be more productive. |

Very nice. You got grapes from a cutting the first year? Thats very good. I thought they took 2-3 years to produce. Nice job. That pear looks good too. I planted 27 fruit trees this year (No figs) Hoping to get a taste of some of them next year and then year 3-5 they should really start to produce. |

It was just a few clusters, since the plants don't have any shape yet, no trellis, one is leaning on a bamboo, the other tied to my porch. I am learning what they do, and now I have a better idea. I am trying to understand why low and high and head pruning and how to do. |
