Janice is a superb fig, ripe today. Texture is thick jelly, or creamy-like golden thick gel. Sweet but not a honey taste. Tried hard to think of a taste it could be compared to. A long time ago I had brandy ice cream. Maybe it has that brandy ice cream taste. Sun warmed today. Whereas Binello is fruit punchy fresh, Janice is rich brandy flavored gel. Thicker than jelly, smoother than jam, rich but light. All sweet.

Don't have Excel yet. The Janice shipped from Bay Flora: Janice Seedless Kadota. |

Yea, this is a nice one. Saw one here at a local nursery and the fig was sweet like Kadota, but it was twice the size. I was thinking about getting it but I have 4 Kadotas (bought for grafting projects) and 1 in ground. Put this down on your wish list. |
