I snapped a few pics out back today and thought I'd post them:

First, I didn't mention it in the title because, surprisingly, it still hasn't fruited yet although it's looking pretty healthy, but here's a Parfianka Pomegranate:

 

About 6 months ago, or so, I was complaining that my LSU Purple, which I had purchased as a tissue culture, seemed  to be growing very slowly.  Well, since then, it has absolutely taken off and is sprawling  to about 3' wide and about 4'-5' tall.  I've already harvested several ripe figs, which were very good in spite of it being a young tree:

 

Here's a nice cluster of Cajun Gold figs.  These taste just like honey!

 

I have two bananas fruiting.  First is a Williams Hybrid that started flowering about 45 days ago:

 

Next is one of the Dwarf Cavendish bananas that just started flowering within the last week or so:

 

I'll try to get more of the fig trees in the next post!

Are the bananas in pots? Looks like it in the first pic on the right hand side.

How long did it take for your dwarf cavandish to flower?

Gary.. they look great.  I wish I could grow bananas here... I've seen the plants, but I don't think they have fruits

Hmmmm....that's interesting!  It cut off the last part of my post...

Believe it or not, these are supposed to be two of the same types of papaya (TR Hovey) but they sure don’t look the same from the shape of the fruit.  Here’s the older one (note the oblong shape of the fruit):

 

And, here's the younger one (note the round shape of the fruit):

Yes, ALL of my trees & plants are grown in containers, including those Papayas!

I have about 4-5 DC's right now that all started as pups from my "original" DC that fruited last year.

They take about a year, or so, to start flowering and another 3-6 months to ripen the fruit down here in South Florida.  It would likely take longer in cooler areas.

Grasa, yes, bananas would be tough in Seattle unless they were protected during the Winter, so would likely take a couple/few seasons to fruit there, IF you could get it to fruit at all.  There are some varieties of "ornamental" bananas that I don't believe actually fruit, so it's possible that's what's out there.
