Some fig fruits have distinct ribs while others are smooth on the surface. It may be just my own observation that most varieties with ribbed fruits are relatively late ripening. Any half truth to it; and |

Here are some of the Figs, that a lot of forum members have heard about, that have ribs and they come in different colors. |

I found this post from 2011 that shows one of the most unusual figs I have ever seen...yellowish skin with red-striped ribs... http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/check-out-my-red-fig-5426662?pid=1269832191#post1269832191 Also, "unknown pastiliere" on the figs 4 fun varietal page shows a lot of rib Hope this helps! Good luck! |

Very nice fig. Looks like it could use a couple more days on the tree but I suffer from the same problem! When it comes to picking figs I get very inpatient lol!You have a beautiful tree there Francisco! Thanks for sharing your pics! |

Pied de Boeuf has very prominent ribs. I've tried several times to turn one into a wife without success. |

Conadria here has no ribs. <edit: or at least they're not visible.> |

Well maybe it is a misidentification case which happens very often with figs or the fact that Conadria is a hybrid allows it to look like either one of the parent trees according to growing conditions( heat, humidity, amount of sunlight etc.) I ran a Google search and it came up with all kinds of pics claiming to be Conadria figs that have very significant variations. I d like to grow a verified Conadria so I can report on the darn ribs with better accuracy ,lol! |
