It says that the Black Ischia and Black Provence are the same in the Amazon preview pages. I thought we established they are the different figs, no? Do they have the wasp in Au? |

It looks like it is about a lot of fruits, not sure why they put the fig on the cover or in the title. |

I guess I'll have to look for it at the bookstore and see for myself if it's any good. |

I got the book today. It is certainly not even close to Pon's book "Les Figueres" but is a distant second in my collection. One thing it has going for it is that I can read it. It's a 7x9" paperback Australian publication. One of 28 books on specific fruits including apples, apricots, lemons, avacodo's, etc. it starts with the history of figs in Australia and lists 112 fig varieties with good descriptions but only about 10% with pictures. They do list places to buy the figs where possible which would be nice if you lived in Australia. I would think that a book like this could certainly be made here I the states with contributions from public and private sources of information such as varieties and especially pictures. I would think a book on figs with 500+ varieties would be possible with just what is available here in the States. I'd give it a 2 out of 5. It was lacking in # of varieties and pictures. Still, not a bad book at all for $30. BTW I give "Les Figueres" a 4 out of 5 because I can't read it. Lol. Where's the English translation version? |

Thanks Aaron, this is what I really wanted to know, some member that has reviewed the book, not a book reviewer, to give the fig enthusiast perspective of its content value for us growers. Thanks again. |

I checked it out on Amazon, and the first thing that I noticed was the pictures that were used without permission. Don't know if Bass has given permission, but images from Figs 4 Fun were used without permission, and some pictures are of different varieties that they were used for. |

So if someone did want to use pics from the figs 4 fun variety inventory, who would they need to speak to? |
