Nice setup Justin's! I'm also using an old fish tank as a grow out area for my figs. Are you having any trouble with fungus gnats or spider mites with your setup and if so, how are you dealing with it?

See my original post regarding my defense against fungus gnats. The coco coir doesn't carry any gnats in it like soil often does. Gnats are only a problem when your roots rot from overwatering or lack of air. I have been very diligent about inspecting/removing any cups that have stalled or not rooted. These are typically the first to get gnats.

Nice. Thanks for the detailed video. Like the use of shelving with lights. Started the dish tank yesterday. Richie

I love how I didn't see any yellowing, If ever there was a post showing the merits of coco and Canna nutrients this is it, oh and diligent and attentive care on your part.  Great job!

For anyone interested:

These are the micro nutrients im using with the Canna Vega. One of few micro nutrient solutions with no odor which is ideal for indoor use.

Great info and video Justin.  Depending on the cutting....I am able to get a mop of root from one cutting is 17 days using my cloner.

Justin,

Awesome setup! Looks like an entire room dedicated to fig propagation. My setup is not even close to what you're doing here.

Hi Justin,

I'm sure many (who live in other parts of the country) will benefit from your methods... but you've got a huge humidity chamber outside.  When I was in Houston, I rooted in Air-Pot containers.  I placed the containers in dapple shade without any tenting.  I would think, once you have some root growth, you should be able to move your trees outdoors without any need to trap humidity.
