Hi F4F members! I am new to the forms and wanted to quickly introduce myself to the community. My grandfather, who is now 98 years old, showed me what it was like to grow a plant from seed at age three. I am not the most patient person in the world, whatever patience and nurturing attributes I have, I give the credit to my grandfather. Growing up, I would plant all sorts of rarer/non-commercially available fruit trees in my parent’s yard. My mom didn’t really mind, especially when the fruit season rolled around. My wife and I love all types of fruits and figs are one of her favorite! One of the first things we discussed and had in common on our first date were about our love for all types of fruits. Fast forward ten years, of which four of those years were in apartments, we purchased a home in October of last year. Now that we have our own place with a decent sized yard, approximately 3000 square feet, I feel that it is time to restart. I have a two year old son and another on the way - I am extremely passionate about passing on the love of gardening to them. I grew up eating Black Mission figs from the yard and had no idea until recently on the sheer number of varieties available. All the pictures and reviews from members on here are amazing. As you can see in my signature, I have started a small collection. They’re currently still rooting but I have great expectations! If anyone wants to donate or sell any interest verities of cutting, please message me! Bottom-line, I love what I have seen from this community and I look forward to being a part of it & contribute to it. Best Regards, Jeffrey and Anna

Jeffrey and Anna, you'll need a bigger yard! Or you will want one after you catch fig fever! Welcome! |

You may think about reducing the size of your house to give more yard space!! Haha |

Orange County is almost the best for figs. Maybe a little too wet. |
