I'm not particularly interested in Jolly Tiger since I've heard the fruit's taste isn't anything to write home about so I haven't bothered to collect it.  I've been contacted by a few different clients who would like to purchase cuttings.  I'm not looking to be a wholesale buyer or something like that but if you have several legitimate cuttings from branches that produce variegated leaves and might be interested in selling them, please send me a PM or email.  Thanks

I have 2 3 y.o. plants that lost their variegation. Had 3 but accidentally gave one away. One of those plants (in 3 g pots) sent out a big runner with variegated leaves last year so I will try to cut up and root. If one does I'll send it to you. I have zero interest in this variety as the figs are just so so in my opinion. I am giving them another 2 years just to be sure but so far I am just not impressed at all.

On another matter, I have some Panache cuttings from my branch which had variegated leaves that I'm rooting now and hope that works out.

Alan, I believe he is referring to figs with variegated leaves such as Jolly Tiger and my mutant Panache.  Nelson also has a Panache which produced variegated leaves.

I've never been interested in Jolly Tiger because of what folks have said about the fruit. But if your variegated Panachee is a relatively stable mutation, with both good tasting stripped fruits and variegated leaves, that would be something a lot of people might really want. Hope it works out.

George, you maybe don't like the fact that cuttings get sold.  F4F is comprised of a wide variety of types of people.  Some are hobbyists with 4-5 trees, some maybe 100 trees.  Some are an actual farmer and nursery, such as myself.  Do you go to the store and buy food?  Do you have a problem with doing so?  Yes, I have clients and there is nothing wrong with that at all.  I also give away and trade cuttings.  Okay?

I have no interest in this variety for myself because of reports on the fruit quality.  I am trialing California Brown Turkey, however. :)

This is getting off subject but it seems I'm not making progress on Jolly Tiger so here is a photo of one of my Panache cuttings taken last night.  The top shoot is from a bud that was adjacent to a leaf which was variegated last year.

 

Yep, cuttings should be sold.

I've never watched a variegated leaf develop. The pigmentation on the shoot to the bottom (of the photo) seems light. Can you tell yet if it will be variegated?

Yes Gina, it appears to be variegated.  I looked at quite a few of these on the original tree develop over the summer.  It was interesting to see.  The stripe on one side of the branch may have been slightly wider than normal and ever leave that developed within that stripe was variegated.
