Can I send you a young tree or so? If you are up to caring for them, I'm sure we can get you started with a few, if you are interested. That is, if caring for a few trees is therapy for you instead of a burden. |

Glad you're back and I hope you'll continue to get better. Like Ed said if you're up for more I would be happy to send you one to help get you restarted as well. |

Pete, the last thing on your mind should be who you owe plants to. Concentrate on getting better for yourself and for your family. Once you are ready to rebuild your collection, we are all ready to contribute. Count on it! |

Pete, thanks for checking in with us! As others have said focus on getting your health back on track and then we can donate whatever figs you want to recollect. I can make you an airlayer of Paridiso-Gene - I know you loved that one! |

Pete, great to hear from you and, as others have said, I hope you continue to get better. I hope you are able to take it easy and relax. You don't owe me anything but, even if you did, that would be the last thing on my mind. Peace! |

Pete, I don't know you as well as some of the other members here but, just know you should not worry about who you owe Figs to. Worry about getting well and coming back on the Forum and teaching us with your expertise. I promise one thing, when you get back to fooling with Figs again, I will help you build up your collection. For now, please just take care of yourself...... : ) |

That's a tough diagnosis, and one of the things that make it especially tough is that feeling of guilt. That you should be able to just rise above it, and that you're letting everybody down by not doing so. |

thanks all, i'm very glad to post here again. as much as i love fig and want to grow them again, fig boring beetle makes me hesitate. maybe after i get rid of all my figs, they are all dead anyway, and clean the area.. in next yr or two, i might give it a shot again. but you can still count on me for weekend drink threads! |

Yes, clean up all the dead wood and try starting up again next Spring. With a small number of figs (at least at the beginning) you can watch them closely for insects and take appropriate steps if you see somthing. |

Pete hi, been wondering where were you. Taking time of the forum and even figs can be good. Can you show pics of damage sites of the boring beetle? Have you noticed they were attracted to trees in particular soils or maybe they Hurt fmv infected trees more than other? |

Good to see you back, Pete. Sorry to hear about losing your plants. I'm sure Martin would advise to burn them all and dance around the bonfire. |
