Hi, I would like to introduce myself to the figs4fun community. My name is Nick and I'm new to the figs4fun forum but a long time fig enthusiast, residing in Burbank, California.
I have a few fig trees growing in my backyard and one of them has been with our family for over 40 years, brought in when my late uncle immigrated to the United States and brought the cuttings with him from Lebanon. 
We named it "Lebanese Black/Purple Fig" for its skin color.
I believe this tree was originally growing in the mountainous regions of Lebanon, where snow and cold weather is common in the winter.
I planted my first "Lebanese Black/Purple" fig tree over twenty years ago and it has grown over 15' tall and 15' across, all the while keeping it under control. It's a heavy producer that produces a large breba crop (up to 97 gr.) in early June, followed by the main crop in mid-July, August and early September.
The fruit is very sweet, meaty, intense and the skin cracks when it's ripe, the pulp; ruby red. Of course it's a constant race with the birds, parrots and the squirrels.

Nic you said you thought  this tree was from a colder region or mountainous area , have you shared this tree with any growers in colder zones like 5 , 6 or 7 ?
 If so does it still give breba and does the main crop ripen early ?

Have you or someone you shared with tested this cultivator to see if it is suitable for pot culture ?

Hi Steve,
To the best of my knowledge, this variety does not need the wasp to pollinate.

It is only recently, (No more than 6 or 7 months ago) that I began sharing this cultivar with the fig growers, some of whom live in colder zones, namely Bass, but it is too early to know how well it will do in those areas... 
Bass should be the judge and the bearer of the good news :-)

Bass is one of the first people who got interested in this variety, almost two years ago, way before I had it on Ebay, but I wasn't ready at that time.

You are not too far from the source of this variety. It's either from Baskinta or Beteghrin, which are villages not too far from each other.

Here are some updates on my figs; the picture of the tree is current with a 6' ladder underneath, the rest are from the summer of 2015!
