When I was very young, we lived next door to an old Italian man who had his whole yard filled with fruit trees, veggies and a huge grape vineyard from which he made his own wine.  Well, he had these two huge fig trees that he wrapped and took care of like a baby for the winter months.  I remember the figs like it was yesterday!  They were the biggest figs I have ever seen.  The outside was light green and the inside was red.  I never knew the name of the figs.  He brought them from Italy.  He never spoke English and my Italian wasn't that great!  If anyone knows what these figs could be, I would appreciate the help in finding a plant.
