Had my 1st Violette de Bordeaux breba this morning. Surprisingly large, (72g) and quite sweet and berry-flavored for the first fig from this plant. Loved it! IMG_3814.JPG

I haven't seen Vista yet, Paul. This tree was from Dave Wilson Nursery. It's growing like mad and full of figs. Some of its branches have long fingered leaves and other branches only mulberry shaped leaves.

Looks like a perfectly ripened one as well, Great Job!

Thanks Don. I've eaten enough not-quite-ripe figs to have learned my lesson ;-))

Congrats, Gary!  I should be trying VdB for the first time this year myself.

First time I tasted this variety (2 years ago) I felt like I time-travelled to my childhood. Funny how taste and smell are such triggers for memories. Everyone should have this one. I will never get rid on mine.

Interesting Breba! I have never had a VDB Breba, but I can tell you the main crop tastes super awsome!. I am in a northern temp. so brebas always get pinched to get the plant moving for main crop. Thanks for sharing!
