Hello,a month ago , ask about brebas growing in espalier , and still have a question .1: I added a drawing with 3 ways of pruning. which it is right for San Pedro type fig ?2: after harvest ( in July) cut 4cm outbreaks . the trees ran out leaves.¿can the tree die ?3. new shoots will be born . we keep until after the winter and leave after only one leader outbreak. is that correct?4. Anybody know any field with this type of pruning to type san pedro ?thank you very much and sorry for so many questions

You will probably want to go with scheme #1 because the vertical shoots can be quite long, like 6 ft or so. You could try #3 but your main vertical trunk would need to be around 10 ft altogether! |

Would love to hear ideas on how to get brebas with espalier training. |

While this video is not specific to espalier, the concepts of pruning in a cool climate for maximum breba production should still apply: |
