I have an Encanto Red tree that had a bunch of figs on it this year, but lost them. I never found them if they dropped off the tree, though I also didn't look hard enough (this tree backs up to a monster squash patch). A bunch of my Celeste figs dropped, but I found them in the pot. Would anything try to eat an unripe, hard fig? I would assume it'd be a mammal, but maybe also a bird? |

Do you have squirrels around your place? If you do then that's probably what it is. . |

@pedrom - I sure do have squirrels and had wondered about them - if they take fruit, and when. They probably think the unripe fruit are nuts? I never catch them in the act, though... |
