I have moved to LA zone 8. That is Springhill, La . I have room for possibly 3 fig trees. I am wanting something sweet with a Strawberry or cherry taste? What re fogs would you plant if limited to three and where could I get them? |

Not strawberry or cherry, but most people describe it as delicious. In your climate Figo Preto should be one of them in your trio. |

No I want to try a strawberry type flavor as well. I just want something with a different taste than the Chicago Hardy I tried in IL. Didn't like the Chicago one at all. Of course area might have affected the taste. |

I would second the Adriatic JH suggestion if you want a sweet, berry tasting fig. People here have posted how Adriatic JH tolerates rain, heat, humidity and wide temperature swings, ripens better in colder climates and still develops a great berry flavor before it’s at the “dead ripe” stage so you can enjoy the fruit over a longer period of time. It even has a “story” behind it. Story: http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/difference-bt-adriatic-jh-and-adriatic-5880337?highlight=adriatic+jh&trail=50 |
