I know it's old hat to many people here, but this was my first air layer on a fig and I'm pleased it turned out well! Many thanks to the generous forum member who sent me the Ronde de Bordeaux earlier this year! |

I know I'm going to feel like a fool when the answer comes.. but, Sarah.. what is the dilute MG you used? IE, what is MG.. all that's coming to mind is monosodium glutamate. :) |

Looks great! Nice job... I have a bunch in the oven now after having 3 successes earlier this year on practice figs (didn't want to risk my inexperience on a known desirable variety)... I hope this next batch works out as well; I'm using the same technique as you described with the only addition being adding a wee touch of rooting powder to the scratched area before enclosing in the bottle. |
