Hi everyone. Is it possible to ID an old fig tree without a fig fruit? Found this old beauty today in an older irrigated neighborhood in Phx . Looks like it was in a yard that has been turned into condos. I'll have to visit it in summer to look for fruit, Great knarly old tree with huge leaves. Love to hear your opinions. |

I would for sure ask around to some of the residents. That's a fantastic tree and it didn't happen there by accident. Beautiful. |

Black Mission was the first thing that came to my mind too. I have a baby BM and the leaf is really similar. |

That's a beautiful tree. It's amazing how well they grow in Arizona. The leaves look like those you'd find on a violette de Bordeaux |

Oh a VDB! That would be cool. I've never seen or tasted one of those. That would be great! Can't wait to see what grows on this tree in 2016! |

Hi Jodi - did you ever make it back to this tree to get a look at the fruit? Curious to know if you found out anything about it. |
