My 10 ft unknown fig tree potted in a large container has recently leaves dropped (leaves turned out to yellow and dropped mainly in the lower part) Since weather has been hot in the last week, so I water it everyday in the morning. Do you think I over watered it or others which resulted some leaves become yellow and dropped ?

Have you added fertilizer recently by any chance?

I have recently added Tomato fertilizer (water solution) to all fig trees either in pot or in ground and only this one got yellow leaves and dtopped.

The excessive heat without rain for 2 weeks has a couple of my varieties with quite a few yellow
leaves. So long as you have good drainage, over watering should not be the problem.
We just got rain, so I expect full recovery. It's good, the ones with yellowing are still holding on to their figs. Good luck.

During excessive heat, make sure that the pot is not over heating the root system. I had a BT that did the same thing each summer until I up potted to a larger pot and shaded the pot. I now wrap my larger pots on the sun side with those silver windshield protectors from the dollar store. Good luck.

Although fig tree like sun/heat, if they are not accustomed to
it at the extreme level, they may show it. Sure, water it since
shading it is impractical due to it's size.
Leaves drop for all types of reasons, then grow new leaves.
I wouldn't get too worried.
