How far apart are your trees planted?

It varies but most are 5 to 6 feet apart. In different parts of the yard some trees are closer than that and some are farther. Originally when i planted i planned to keep everything trimmed down to no taller than six feet... but that didnt happen.

Do you notice a lack of productivity the closer the trees are planted?  I was thinking about going about 4 ft in the future. That may be way too close though.  Thanks for the response.

When planted close it seems like neighboring trees do well if both grow at the same rate. But if one grows faster than the other then the smaller tree seems to get swallowed up and doesnt thrive. I have a couple of spots next to larger trees where whatever i plant never thrives. But overall, planting close has worked for me and allowed a for a lot of trees to do well and produce fruit.
