Hi to all figs friends,

I get my first rippen figs in my garden this year. The cutting of this figs are from portugal but I dont know which varity they are. Do anyone know this?

Probably you have a Pingo de Mel or a strain of Moscatel Branco
Why not show us a full cutaway of the fruit ??

I want to waint a little bit that the inside of fruit gets red .
Or when its rip enough?
Pingo de mel is it I think. The picture is the same of them.

Is it really a rarely fig?

If it is a Pingo de Mel, which I believe it is, being a honey fig it will hardly turn red inside.
This variety is a Common type and very popular in Portugal
Here you have two pictures of the genuine Pingo de Mel, picked earlier  this Summer.
In our climate, this variety keeps ripening figs from late June through Oct/November

Is the Kadota fig the same?

Well I will try to post more pictures of the fruit if I cut them.

Although being also a honey type fig, Kadota is not the same as Pingo de Mel.

Francisco, it sure looks like a pingo de mel. I have a pingo de mel that looks very much like that one . It came directly from Portugal
