I can't tell you what it is but fig shapes can vary during the season so it's not really a reliable indicator. That irregular shape happens randomly to a lot of figs. |

Yep it happens randomly, I once had a whole branch do this, but it stopped doing it. You say all figs, hmmm... there is a variety I forgot its name o'rouke or something? The guys here can help more with that. |

I've seen this in other fruit too(apples mainly),some varieties are prone to do it,there is a fig called Fetifero(aka Dall'Osso) I think that is known to do this, others here may have experience with their figs doing it on occasion,it's like a conjoined twin thing, two embryos fused or something? |

Just had a quick search under conjoined in the search function, other people have seen this on other varieties too, peters honey, alma and Celeste were named, seems it's not common but not unique either, unless it is literally every branch, every fig, every time, that's more unusual, maybe you will just have to play this one out and see what the tree does as it matures,do you have pics of the tree? |

Brunswick typically looks like this almost all the time, but other varieties do it occasionally. In Brunswick, seems to be just be thick neck, but in other varieties it is actually a second fig "blooming" (for lack of a better term) through the the ostiole (eye) of the first fig - sort of two figs end to end. |

Sorry to say, but in your 2nd photo that is not Stella! Stella is Large Greenish-Yellow and the inside is Red. |

The Dall D'osso is famous because the top part has a different color than the bottom part. |
