Ok, finally after years of having the tree. killing it to the soil line bring it back and every other mistake, I finally have some perfectly ripe figs and can take some pictures. This is a fig I got from my wife's grandfather he got it from another Italian in Trenton NJ in the late 50s. It was one tree out of 11 that he had, hence the number. Most turned out to be Kadotas or Brown turkey type figs. Only the tree that he has had either got 60 years ago are great figs. This is one of them. It seems to be in the Sicilian family of large figs like sals corleone, but the pulp is darker, the skin color is different and it tastes way better. It seems to be more productive as well. I'm debating referring to it as his name instead of his initials. It resembles my Aldo's Palermo Red, both the fig and the leaves. Congrats on a great looking fig!

I have two others from him one of which has the same fruit shape and leaves, but the outside is more red and the inside is lighter. That matches Sicilian red. This one does not taste the same. This evening I am going to try to sit down and post pictures of that one.

Leon, this is one of the other ones This has the same basic leaves. The skin is more red and the inside is lighter. Some figs are coming out a brighter red then in the picture. This one matches up to Sicilian Reds I already have. This fig can from San Castaldo Sicily.
