Hie all my Deanna fig i planted in a self watering barrel has since woke from its slumber (its spring here in Australia) and has since put out multiple branches about 5 and there are still many buds turning green and opening up.
This morning when i was removing some weeds i noticed a sucker beginning to emerge. Do i just leave it there permanently or should i wait for it to become a certain size before separating it from the mother plant and then planting it in its own spot? What do you think? I forgot to take a photo of the sucker but i have the photo of the update. Barrel is on Left. The one on the right contains my European sugar-plum.
When i planted it 21/08/16

European Sugar Plum 17/9/16

I slice a plastic pot so that I can get it around the sucker, fill the post with soil, and then when its rooted and ready, cut it off.

Thank you all for your advice. I'll do that and that will be my 5th fig plant :)
