Hi everybody
I have a dauphine hibernating with 3 figs pea size on this years wood.
Do you know if I should break off or, if I leave them alone will they become breba on the branches next season?
Thank you for the suggestions.

Hi everybody.
When I winter my figs outside here in zone 5, I will make a trench in the garden and lay the potted trees, branches tighted close together, plywood on top, snow does the rest.
Never loosed a fig tree yet. In spring ( End of april), I open the ends to let in air  so they dont get mold. When temps warm in late may I raise them up.
Do you guys have another methode that works well for you? New ways of wintering welcome.
Thanks cold growers.

Hi every body.
I know growing figs from cuttings is a nice way of propagating but it's long before you get them producing fruit.
And being in zone 5 that short summer season, I would like to give the best chance to the plants .
So, I've decided to do some grafting for the type of figs I have just one small tree to go faster.
1st question.
Wich type of grafting do you guys prefer, bud, chip, whip and tongue, bark graft, V graft or cleft.
I know how to do most of them, Just not sure wich time is better.
2nd
Do you graft during dormancy, during brake bud or during full growth?
Thank you all.
God bless.

Hi fig friends.
Have allways heard that breba comes out of last year's old wood. The question that has been bugging me is; if, I pinch new growth, it forces theose branches to bear fruit this year. Hince those should be next year's breba but, they are on this year's new growth.
Those figs are they  supposed to be breba or main crop?
Thank you all for the answers. I know for sure that someone here as the answer.
Best wishes with figs to you all.

Hi fig lovers. I've rooted some cuttings of chicago hardy and got these wierd leaves .Is this fig mosaic virus?
If my suspicion is true ,should I discard the plant to avoid propagation to other rootings of different fig types or, can I do something to treat it.
I know that you have some great connaisseurs of the fig world on this forum.
I thank you people in advance for the enlightment on the subject.

Today i was searching on the web  and came across a couple of videos on youtube about a root Air pruning technic. Does someone of the people here heard about it or tryed it?
It seemed to make some sense but, as i'am beggining with figs  and dont have to many figlets to play with, I was affraid to try it on them. So, i'm trying it instead on some cuttings of rosemary that had the roots about 2 inches long and needed to be repoted.
I'll see how they have performed  when i'll need to repot  again in the spring.
Thanks and greetings to all.
