very nice video Ryan.
great looking plants you have there. they look strong and healthy!
i need some help (info) with the airlayer, as well.
if you girdle the branches and leave the airlayrs on for a long time, do you not risk trunk decay and rot?
please help me out with this one, because i am normally scared of doing it for that reason.
thanks for your help and info.

I was out taking a drive and came across this little beauty.  I don’t know what to do with it yet, but I was thinking of getting an airlayer and bringing it home to make my other figs better. What are your thoughts?                               ABCD0020.JPG  ABCD0019.JPG

@ abcd
first of all i would like to thank you for following me on ebay.
Harvey didnt know one of your many other ebay ids... atskor10 aka atskor8 ( sell any other bad mushrooms lately?) 2) you can call ebay and usda ... i have no problem with that. i have not sold to anyone in the USA... CAN YOU PROVE THAT I DID? I TURNED YOUR OFFER DOWN AND YOU WANTED TO GET CUTTINGS THAT WERE NOT LEGAL TO OWN, EVEN THOUGH USDA TOOK YOUR CUTTINGS, AND YOU STILL WANTED TO BRAKE THE LAW!!! AND 3) NO ONE CALLED YOU A COPYCAT... I CALLED YOU A LIAR... AND OTHERS CALLED YOU OTHER THINGS!!!! BUT NOT A COPYCAT!!!
SOME BUYERS FROM THE STATES DID BID ON MY EBAY LISTINGS, SO I CANCELED THEM AND NOW ALL MY AUCTIONS CLEARLY STATE THAT I WILL NOT SHIP TO USA. ANYWAY ITS 1:15 AM SO I AM GOING TO END IT FOR NOW.  ITS UP TO YOU HOW FAR THIS GOES!

abcd you claim to have ordered peloponnisiaka aspra sika and many other greek types with phytosanitary certificate and the cost to you was $5.00 (that is a joke because the certificate it self cost more then youll ever know) but since you paid for it how much was it????
i will not go in to it with you, because it is clearly not worth my time.
however i ask you again and for the last time, and only because you wanted to drag this  out in the forum.
did your supplier show you a picture of the actual fruit?
can you produse a picture of this fruit other then my own?
because if not i have tons of fig firewood outside my door i could sell to you for $1/ cutting.
think of all the profit you would make on ebay!!!

great tree Paul.
i would like to ask something about your airlayer.
when are you planning on removing them?
i always thought that roots did grow in the winter but only if they started before the plant went dormant.
this to me looks like a new airlayer.
would it not root faster and safer if you started it in march?
or should i just start some of mine now?
again thanks for the pictures and info.

Subject: Figs in Florina? Replies: 8
Posted By: andreas Views: 398

not many greeks know named figs.
all they know is skin color.
so its a dark unknown or light unknown...
you have to go there and look at the trees that made it over the winter and get cuttings.
after you grow it and plant it, you must protect it for the first 3-4 years...

Subject: Figs in Florina? Replies: 8

yes, they do have some fig trees in Florina

brian dont discard it now that you have it...
just know that it will take longer to fruit then a grafted one would.
after that you will have to try and keep it short...

Subject: OT Bing Cherry Replies: 31
Posted By: andreas Views: 801

brian i think you should get a grafted plant, not one rooted from a cutting.

Subject: How to tell if a cutting is upside down? Replies: 24

that is an easy one.
the hard time comes when you have cuttings from a 40 year old tree...
now that is a puzzle. ;-)  Lol

sorry but they are deleafing for  2 reasons.
one is to show a better picture of the fruit for buyers!
and two the airlayer has small root system and will not suport all the leafs and fruit.
( i dont think all the fruit will make it... but it helps to sell)

not true Richard.
most of these guys are new to figs.
they are very in to figging and are spending lots of $$$$$$$$
the only thing they have going for them is that the figs never go dormant...
so they grow them fast and have a huge market for them. if you see the facebook add you
will see that he is selling them (and they are mostly american known figs from this forum) for
about 35.00 euros or $42.50 U.S. Dollars.

Hi some of you probably know that i am not good on rooting, but i have a question.
i sold a cutting to a person that started rooting it.
with in 8 days there were no roots, no leafs, but there was a fruit that came out of nowere and just would not stop growing.
has that ever happened to anyone here?
