Sorry to hear about your wife Victor. Something about figs, it makes everything better.
A friend of mine once asked me if I was familiar with this fig, perhaps originated around
Bari Italy, he was growing it in ground in Wildwood NJ, nice looking fig, well wishes, Sergio in USA.

Xenil, I am in zone 7 I have Unk. Pastiliere in ground and I did get nice tasty figs like 5 or 6 of them.
It will drop some figs, but you do not need the wasp. It's worth it. Wish you well,
        Sergio in NJ, USA.

Hi Rick, I have had the same results as you have had. Here in New Jersey, southern tip of NJ, zone 7, is very cold hardy and prolific, a keeper here, 6 to 7 years old in ground. True test will be this spring when it will wake up from this long and cold winter, enjoy, Sergio.

Subject: Ever hear of a fig called Hoboken (or know of any figs from Hudson County NJ area)? Replies: 6

Hi Christy, I do not Know the name of it, I would have to ask my mother's neighbor in Hoboken the next
time I go up, they chopped it up pretty hard this year, they got too tall for them to pick. It's about 6 blocks North East from where Sinatra was raised. If you follow the thread on this forum you will understand the meaning of Mount Aetna figs, but I think you already know.

George, I don't believe that there is one, someone might have just labeled it such, it could be any fig.

Hi Christy, the fig that I have from Hoboken is in the Mount Aetna family and one of the best in that group, it's purple, red inside, thin skin, I have two planted outside in the yard, Sergio in South Jersey.

Hello everyone, I have experimented with RKN, and with the help of the good doctor from this forum,
I have applied peroxide 2 % to the pots and inground and the results have been super.
I have not killed any fig plants only a strawberry plant. No measuring, just go with the feel.
Mulch, Mulch, Mulch like the expert says with the inground plants, and you will be fine.
Enjoying figs in Cape May Court House NJ.

Hello everyone, I have been battling Root Knot Nematode for a long time, not knowing what it was at first, I was losing trees, and no progress fig wise. Five years ago I started shredding leaves, mulching around the fig trees in the fall with at least 4 to 6 inches of it, added some lime. Last 3 years my trees
have been taking off to full grown stature, and fig wise was very successful, with early ripening and sweet tasting. Hard work but well worth it. There is still time to mulch. Also I have not noticed any
FMV for what it's worth.
I believe the earthworms under the mulch is the secret to the success.
I will dig under one of the trees that suffered the most from the desease in the spring to see how deep they go and if they are still there. Zone 7, about 10 miles from the southern tip of New Jersey.

Good Morning fig friends,
I have to agree with Pattee about Kadota, this year it has been a 10+.
Almost tennis size figs with multiple drops of honey hoozing onto it's chin.
Thanks to lack of rain, mature trees, like 8 to 10 years. The plus is for it's
history, that to me equals to a keeper in Southern N.J. Sergio.

SSaffire, I picked up a branch of the same fig tree that you have shown from the side of the road in Cape May County NJ. The leaves are unmistakable, and before they chopped it up,(new people moving into the house) I was able to notice that the figs were dark purple, to black. Grows like a weed, it is now over two feet tall. The tree was in full sun, I think that it will be a keeper, wish you the best with it, Sergio.
