I am not moving, I would get 7 cuttings and all seven cutttings would start. I am keeping a 100 or so trees. The Trees are 3 or 4ft tall, young trees. Rex.

I just looked in the root cellar and the figs look good, no mold,nice green buds,even a few extra cuttings in cups I put in cellar look good,Rex.

If you get the fig cuttings into cups LET THEM GET ROOT BOUND before you pot up.IfI can get a fig cutting growing in a cup I have never lost one potting up to 1 gal,also dont over water. Rex.

Hi, I did 9 bud grafts on march first,all but one graft the buds have began to swell.Bud grafts are fast and easy and have good results.Rex.

I had 4  RDB  cuttings the first year I tried rooting figs,I have 4 RDB trees.People keep sending me Panche  cuttings and I root them.I tried to root Smith cuttings and lost them all.I got 8 Isbat cuttings from Merio and all eight died,every one else told me how easy they root?

I made 10  LaRadek grafts on BT root stock I started last year,I also started 4 cuttings,but I think one cutting is dead. Does anyone graft hard to find cuttings as back up.I had 3 smith cuttings last year,I took one bud and grafted it. The graft is doing fine the cuttings all died. Rex.

Hi All , being in vermont we have  so much snow  that we dont even notice a ft of snow,right, No, we might get 8 jn tonight but all winter long we have seen the snow stay south of us. Its been bitterly cold, 900 $ in frozen water lines later and I have no idea how my figs 100  trees,are doing in my rootcellar . so it has not been a good winter. I cant wait for spring .Rex.

I want to try drinking to see if I miss it.I think it a good time 0F to -25F  nights highs around 10F for last month.It did get up to 19 today. Rex.

I am going to start breeding figs  to be cold hardy this summer, I hope it depends on how my figs in the root cellar are doing. there is little snow and the frost has gone far into the ground.

Slugs are good fried with garlick and wine, put the garlick on the slugs and drink all the wine because you need to be vary drunk lol. The beer works well I use it in my garden. Rex.

I would do 2 things,make sure they get full sun and max temp, maybe black plastic  on ground around tree,next reduce water when figs start to ripen. black plastic will help with that as well. Rex

I left 3 cuttings out in 0F lows and 18F highs  out in the open for 3 days, I just missed the figs when I put the others in. The figs were in 1 gal and where just fine,one lost the tip. Rex.

I bought 5.45 acres in the south in the south just to grow figs,So untill I move I will go down once a year and plant figs.So the extra figs can go south.Rex.

I bought cuttings for grafting but they were super thin,1/3 the size of a pencil.I did not think a fig could grow such a small twig, but all 6 of the rooted.Rex.

I go by a few rules, if I trade or sell a fig I am sure of the source, If not sure of who I bought the fig from I dont trade it.If I am unsure on a tag I mark it unknown. I hope anyone who trades with me would let me know if there unhappy with the trade and let me have a chance of fixing it.Rex.

I bought trees off him for the last 2 years, they are great little trees but the leaves are all the same , So I guessed bt or celeste. I use the trees for grafting. I want to point out that I am no expert.Rex.

Hi, figs graft well, Look up posts for Grasa he is our best at grafting figs, also Bill has done some.I grafted cuttings and then rooted the cuttings. It worked well. Rex.

Hi, I live in Vt its a swamp on a mt,so in spring we have tons of slugs,I use beer, read what is in the slug bait, I would not want that near my trees or pets. Rex.

About a year ago a nice man sent me some cold hardy fig cuttings called French Alps. He left 2 rooted cuttings out in the snow in pots, he had pics, and in the spring they started growing with no damage. Any one know about this fig , thanks Rex.
