RichnNJ, why don't you go to hell. You are half the reason this once good forum has been dimished to a few bafoons who have been continuously
insighting the members that built this place to what it was at its peak. Not to mention that the only official who has claimed to thrown a flag for piling on
can't even see the penalty or chose to ignore it again. It's apparent you are not interested in who the players are as long as they send the money. You
don't have to bother with removing me, I will take care of that myself.

Daniel, he us suppose t send me some cuttings which I will grow out and compare with the "plant" that he sent me two years ago. I dont
know why I am wasting my time with this.

Your tree has not bared fruit,  correct? It will be interesting to compare the fruit from your RGNN tree to mine. I have already done so with Art's
and its like comparing and apple to a banana. Nada

I received a small a/l tree from Rob in 2012. It has just come to light that it is not the GN I thought I had purchased. I have been back and forth with Rob about the issue providing pics of
The leaves and fruit. He has offered cuttings but I'm not so sure I want more of the same. However I could grow them out and possibly find my original was a total mistake. BTW the fruit resembles a Thibodeaux and not GN. He may or may not know how the mix up occurred but it is quiet obvious the original tree from Adriano which he got from Rafed went astray.

Daniel, where did the GN cutting I got from you originate?

i have a Thibodeaux also that came from JR. My so called GN and it are a lot alike.

Harvey, I have another from a reputable person also.

My best guess at the present is a Thibodeaux and below are some pics and taste. I believe you can tell that if the fruit from my tree looks and taste
anything like this it would be hard for it to be a GN.

Quote:
A huge fig that has a very different taste that I am having difficulty describing. Maybe a slightly sweet melon or faint peachy. It with stood the rain pretty well and will wait until a few more ripen to pass judgement. As is about a 7. Several more to taste and will up it to an 8.

Harvey, my tree did not come from you. It did come from the same source as a mature tree in a one
gallon pot. Based on the leaf pics of yours and others, and especially the pics of the fruit, There is no
doubt mine is different. Additionally, my fruit taste nor looks anything like another poster who's tree
originated from the same person. His has distinct berry flavors and mine honey/melon. I certainly understand
the changes growing conditions and climate can have. However with out any similarities one can only make
the conclusion that it is not what it is suppose to be.

Leon, it is a good fig and will only get better. Here is what I said in my July pic and taste profile. Also below is a link to that thread.

This is a large fig and it weighed in at 75.93G or 2.67 oz. The flavors appeared to have been affected by the rain. It was still a good honey dew melon like with just a little seed crunch. It is a little figgy tasting. Another one of those that is a keeper just for it being rare and pricey.

Steve, very nice report on these two figs. Just looking at the pics of the FP fruit on the tree, they look a little more elongated than
my BM fruit. That could also be the camera playing tricks or the difference in the growing environments.

Pino, the Persian White is in a five gallon container that is buried about eight inches and heavily mulched.

The Sals Corleone is a four year old tree and it is planted in ground as of this spring.

Thanks for looking.

A Persian White surrounded by delicious Sals Corleone. They were all good and each had honey with slight melon flavor.

First fig that was gifted to me by a private collector last year.  As seen, it is a yellow fig with a beautiful[icon1] red inside. The skin is thin and very tender. The inside had a hint of honey but otherwise not a lot of flavor since it is the first fig. Enjoy the pics.

My first taste of this nice little tree in a five gallon pot. The skin was very thing with no distinct flavor. Inside was a firm jelly like texture and as my wife described it, tasted like a date. I don't have a fix on this one. I would give it a 6.

Rui, thanks for posting some history of this fig. Thanks again for providing the cuttings. The pics look really nice and
your taste profile makes me want to taste it now. I believe mine will fruit next year. It is a vigorous grower and the tree
looks disease free. The Attilio Green is also growing well. All of the cuttings you sent rooted real easy. I passed out all
of them but one of each. I can always get another from someone I gave them to. I just dont have the room to keep back ups for all my trees.

Ed, you stated that you checked it with the finger method. May I suggest that you pull the plant out of the pot and check to see
if the entire root ball is moist or just in places such as the outside?

Steve, it is looking good and yes the fruit should get a little larger. Mine are generally a medium size. Here is a pic of mine but sorry
I did not put a quarter with them.

I let this one ripe to the very max. It is much darker than the first one much darker and smaller than my Sals Corleone. It was also sweeter and
my wife said it had the flavor of peach to her. I am still not sure what it taste like  or what it suppose to taste like. What ever it turns out to
be it is good. LOL

Jake, that is a nice looking plant. Here is  a pick of both of Lebanese Red (Bass) and Red Lebanese (Marius) leaves. Also a pic of the fruit
from both, this year. One other note, neither of my trees have the reddish fruit in its embryo  or in between stage. Mine only turns a reddish
dark brown color towards the end of the ripening state. Also, my figs are very round.  Hope that helps.

Kerry, thanks for showing those pics. I may lose what fruit is remaining on mine but I moved it to a 10 gal pot today
and I will be giving it a dose of fertilizer tomorrow.

And the second one today was even better. This tree is also in the ground here in the deep south and appears to be
getting its act together very well. Its hardy up north so it should do well here. A very distinctive honey/melon flavor
that is as refreshing as any light fig I have. An 8.5 and will get better

Its been four week since I tasted the first fig from this tree. There have been many others but I thought I would update this thread. Todays figs had a more
distinct berry flavor and was somewhat sweet (the way I like it) and it had the slightest seed crunch. I had given it an 8 but I'll up it after the additional
fruit to an 8.5 I think it is a definite keeper and it is in ground here. It must have been quiet cold hardy to survive the NY weather without protection.

Gina, yes there was another thread that Rafed referred to yesterday in another post he made in the late afternoon. I read it immediately after
he put it up and then it was almost immediately taken down. I don't know if Rafed removed it or if it was the moderator.

James and Armando, you are correct that you have to try to remain neutral as the owner/moderator of a forum. However, there comes a time
that it must be policed. If not, you have the unfortunate possibilities of the departure of some of the best supporters and contributors. I.E.
Rafed, JTP and Dieseler. Martin has been gone for some time and it wouldn't be a surprise if others do the same.

Steve, I thought about it but in the spring it put on its new leaves. It never has put on any more. The figs appeared well after
its initial and I felt like there would be more growth to come like all my other plants. But no, it never happened.
