Armando a big thank you so much for taking pictures for the rest of us who couldn't be there. Can you please tell me what variety fig those are on the cutting board? I would like to know what that beautiful green-red fig is?

And sometimes people view your field as a restroom, even though you have a restroom open to the public.

My grandparents had a U-pick farm for strawberries and although it made a living, there were troubles as well. There have been people who would stuff their faces in the fields and only bring up a bucket only 1/4 filled. We've also had kids picking the berries and playing berry fights. You also have those who will pick and toss because they found riper berries. In a day there'd be so much strawberries lying in the field totally perfect and unwanted. You also had people digging up and pulling the actual plants. They   ended up hiring pickers for our strawberry stands and made a whole lot more in profit. People step out of their cars, get in line, pay for a basket or two and left. I'd cut out the headache. If anything people might be stealing cuttings since they're easier to break off.

Aaron, my greenhouse is a 10 by  20. I use two candles and it has worked out fine. I usually stock up on holiday clearance candles  or candles at the dollar store. Since I only heat at nights (freezing nights) two candles have lasted me a good 4-5 days(only nights). It keeps the room warm and ice or frost from forming. The Crisco candle method works a lot better and longer.

I use this method to heat up my greenhouse in the winter when weather drops really low.  It works and has helped me a lot. Maybe this will help someone in the North or East who has their trees in garages or shed on freezing nights.

Not saying it's for everyone, but it might help someone :0

This is probably one of my favorite  figs. This fig was the reason I got into figs. I don't remember what nursery I was at but I saw a pretty long yellow fig hanging on the tree, picked it and popped it in my mouth. WOW was it sweet!  My tree had been a real good grower. Very thick leaves and fast growing.

Frank, I think it's after you try other varieties out there that you realize there are a lot better out there. As your preference keep stacking, BT usually ends up in the bottom. To say it's horrible is an over statement .Lets just say it's not the best tasting one out there. I like brown turkey.

@ Jules, LOL me too! and you just stand there staring at them like they just grew an inch or so. You walk away and come back to stare again. I wonder if my neighbors think I'm nuts. Youre a fig addict when you spend more money on feeding your fig than yourself.
